Terms of service
What we do, what you are paying for, and what happens if something does not go to plan. Please read this before you order.
About these terms
Last updated: 1 Oct. 2026
These terms apply every time you order something from this website: a CSCS card application, a CITB Health, Safety & Environment test booking, a Level 1 Health & Safety course booking, or a card renewal or replacement. By placing an order you agree to them.
We have tried to write them in plain English. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you order and we will explain it.
Who we are
UK Construction Support is a trading name of UKCS CONSULTING SERVICES LIMITED, a company registered in [[COUNTRY OF REGISTRATION: England & Wales / Scotland / Northern Ireland]] with company number 16360747. Our registered address is 5 Brayford Square, London, United Kingdom, E1 0SG.
Our phone number, email address, WhatsApp number and opening hours are on our contact page.
VAT: "not VAT registered"
We are independent of CSCS and CITB
UK Construction Support is an independent support service. We are not CSCS, CITB or any card scheme operator and are not affiliated with or endorsed by them. You can apply for a CSCS card or book the CITB test directly yourself; our fee covers the checking, booking and application support we provide.
That matters in two ways. You are never obliged to use us — you can go to the card scheme or the test provider yourself and pay only their fee. And we cannot decide whether you get a card: that decision belongs to the scheme, and a test result belongs to the test provider.

What you are paying for
The price shown against each service is our service fee. Depending on what you order, it pays for some or all of the following:
- Working out which CSCS card, which version of the CITB test or which course actually fits your job and your qualifications
- Checking your photo ID, your CITB test pass and your qualification evidence against the card requirements before anything is submitted
- Completing and submitting your application, or booking your test or course, on your behalf
- Updates by email, and in your online account, until your card is issued or your booking is confirmed
- Telling you what to do next if something is missing
Fees paid to other organisations
[[THIRD-PARTY FEES: for each service, say whether the CSCS scheme fee, the CITB test fee and the training provider's course fee are included in our price or paid separately — and if separately, how they are paid.]]
Where a fee is paid to the card scheme, the test provider or a training provider, that organisation sets it and can change it. We will tell you before you commit if a fee you have to pay is not covered by what you paid us.
What we do not promise
We do not promise that your application will be approved, that you will pass a test, or that a card, certificate or booking will arrive by a particular date. Those things depend on the scheme, the test provider, the training provider and on you. What we do promise is to check your evidence properly, tell you honestly where you stand, and submit a complete application.
How ordering works
Ordering happens in four steps:
- Basket. You add the cards, tests, courses or bundles you want.
- Your details. You fill in your name, contact details, date of birth, address and — where it is needed for the application — your National Insurance number, and you answer the questions for each item. You can upload your photo ID and certificates here, or send them to us later.
- Payment. You confirm your details are correct and pay by card. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- We check and submit. A real person reviews what you have sent against the requirements, comes back to you if something is missing, and then books your test or course, or submits your application.
Your order is accepted when we confirm it, not when you pay. If we cannot provide what you ordered — for example, because you are not eligible for the card you chose and there is nothing suitable to swap to — we will tell you and refund you.
You must be 16 or over
You have to be at least 16 to order, and the checkout will not accept a date of birth that makes you younger. If you are under 18, please involve a parent, guardian or your employer.
What we need from you
We can only work with what you give us, so the information has to be right. By ordering you confirm that everything you tell us is true, complete and your own.
- Your name, date of birth and address must match your identity documents
- Your photo ID must be genuine, current and yours — normally a passport or a UK photocard driving licence
- Your qualification certificates and test passes must be genuine and yours
- Your National Insurance number, where the application needs one, must be your own
- Tell us promptly if anything changes, or if you spot a mistake in what you have sent
If an application fails, is delayed or has to be resubmitted because the information or documents you gave us were wrong, incomplete or out of date, any extra scheme, test or course fee is yours to pay, and we may charge our fee again for the extra work. We will always tell you the cost before doing anything further.
Sending us a document that is not genuine, or applying in someone else's name, is fraud. We will stop work, refund anything we have not already earned, and report it where we have to.
If an application is refused or a test is failed
If the scheme refuses your application
The card scheme makes the decision, not us. If it refuses your application we will tell you why, as far as we are told, and explain what you would need in order to apply again — for example a qualification you do not yet hold, or a test you need to sit.
Where a refusal comes down to something we got wrong, we will put it right at our cost. Where it comes down to something you do not have or did not tell us, our fee covers the work we did and is not refunded. Fees the scheme has already taken follow the scheme's own rules.
If you fail a CITB test
A test result is between you and the test provider. Failing does not mean our booking service went wrong, so the booking fee is not refunded. You can sit the test again, and we can book the re-sit for you — see our refunds and cancellations policy for what a re-sit costs.
If the wrong card is applied for
If we recommended and applied for the wrong card on the evidence you gave us, we will sort out the correct application and cover our own fee for doing it. If the evidence you gave us was wrong or incomplete, the cost of putting it right is yours.
Tests and courses: dates, changes and not turning up
Tests are sat at test centres run by CITB's appointed test provider. Courses are run by approved training providers. We book your place; we do not run the centres or teach the courses.
Getting there and what to bring
It is up to you to turn up at the right centre at the right time, with valid photo ID in the same name as your booking. Travel and accommodation are yours to arrange and pay for.
Changing a date
Tell us as soon as you know you cannot make it. Whether a date can be moved, and what it costs, is set by the test provider or the training provider, and it usually depends on how much notice you give. We will tell you the position and what it will cost before we change anything.
If you do not turn up
A place you do not use is normally lost, and the test or course fee is normally not refundable. Rebooking means paying that fee again. Our own booking fee covers the booking we made for you and is not refunded.
If the provider cancels
If a test or course is cancelled or moved by the centre or the training provider, we will rebook you as soon as we can at no extra charge from us. If no suitable alternative can be found, you get back everything you paid for that booking, including our fee.
Prices, VAT and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling on each service page and in your basket, and the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. A price shown as “from” is a starting point: we will confirm the exact price before you commit.
VAT
VAT: "not VAT registered"
Where the site shows a price as “inc. VAT”, VAT at the current rate is already inside that figure and there is nothing more to add. If we are not VAT registered, no VAT is charged and none is shown on your invoice.
Paying
Payment is by debit or credit card, taken securely by Stripe
We never see, handle or store your full card details
Your card statement will show a payment to us; your invoice is in your online account
Payment is taken at checkout, before we start work. That is how the service is set up: we check your evidence and submit your application once you have paid.
If a payment fails or is reversed after we have started, we will pause the work and contact you. Prices can change, but never for an order you have already placed.

Your account, and using this site properly
Your account
Ordering creates an online account so you can follow your application, see your invoices and upload documents. We email you a link to verify your address; verifying it is what links your account to your application, so please do it. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account.
We can suspend or close an account that is being used to mislead us, to submit documents that are not genuine, or to abuse our staff.
Using this site properly
Please do not:
- Upload anything that is not yours, is unlawful, or contains a virus
- Try to get into parts of the site, or other people's records, that are not yours
- Copy our content to set up a competing service, or scrape the site automatically
- Interfere with the site, or with the security of anyone using it
The text, images and design on this site belong to us or our licensors. You are welcome to read, print and share pages for your own use.
Our responsibility to you
We will provide our service with reasonable care and skill, and if we get something wrong we will put it right. There are limits to what we can be held responsible for, and there are things the law does not let us limit at all. Both are set out here.
What we never limit
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our responsibility for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other consumer protection law, including your right to a service carried out with reasonable care and skill
- Anything else the law does not allow us to limit
What we are not responsible for
Beyond the things above, and subject to them, we are not responsible for:
- Decisions made by the card scheme, a test provider or a training provider
- Loss of earnings, loss of work or being turned away from a site, where that is not caused by our breach of these terms
- Delays caused by the scheme, a provider, the post, or by information or documents you gave us late or wrongly
- Anything that was not a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms
Where we are responsible, and apart from the things we never limit, what we pay you will not be more than the total amount you paid us for the order the problem relates to.
These terms cover you as a consumer. If you are ordering for a business, we are not responsible to you for loss of profit, loss of business or loss of contracts.
Cancelling, complaints and the law
Cancelling and refunds
Because you order online, you normally have 14 days to change your mind — but that right works differently once you have asked us to start straight away, and once a test or course has been booked. Our refunds and cancellations policy explains exactly what you get back at each stage, and it forms part of these terms.
Complaints
If something has gone wrong, tell us — most things are sorted out with one phone call. Contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email using the details on our contact page, and please include your order reference.
We will acknowledge your complaint within [[COMPLAINT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TIME, e.g. 2 working days]] and give you a full answer within [[COMPLAINT RESOLUTION TIME, e.g. 10 working days]]. If we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect an answer. If you are still not happy, ask for it to be looked at again by [[WHO REVIEWS COMPLAINTS, e.g. a director]].
Complaints about a test, a course or a card decision have to be dealt with by the organisation responsible. We will tell you who that is and help you put your case together.
Your data
How we look after your personal information is set out in our privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms — for example when a scheme changes its requirements. The version on this page when you place your order is the one that applies to that order, so the date at the top matters.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of [[GOVERNING LAW: England & Wales, or Scotland / Northern Ireland if the business is based there]], and the courts of that country can deal with any dispute. Wherever you live in the UK, you keep the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
If a court decides that part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest of them still stand.
Any questions?
Ask us before you order rather than after. Our phone, WhatsApp and email details are on the contact page, and the FAQ answers the questions we get most often.
