Overview

What is the CSCS Provisional Card?

The CSCS Provisional Card is a temporary Red CSCS card designed for people who are new to the construction industry or the CSCS card scheme and need short-term site access while their employer assesses their suitability or while they explore a career in construction.

It may also be suitable for people completing short-duration work experience or placements lasting less than three weeks.

The card gives new entrants a limited period to gain experience, decide on the correct construction occupation and begin working towards the qualification required for their next CSCS card.

The Provisional Card is valid for six months and cannot be renewed.

You can only apply for this card if you have never held a CSCS card before, and it can only be issued once.

Who is this card for?
