What is the Gold Supervisor card?
The CSCS Gold Supervisor Card is designed for people working in construction supervisory or technical occupations who have achieved an approved construction-related Supervisory or Technical NVQ or SVQ at Level 3 or Level 4.
It demonstrates that you have achieved the recognised occupational qualification required for your supervisory role and have the appropriate health, safety and environmental knowledge to work at supervisory level on construction sites.
To qualify, you must hold a relevant construction-related Supervisory or Technical NVQ/SVQ at Level 3 or 4 and pass the CITB Specialist Supervisory Health, Safety & Environment Test.
The Gold Supervisor Card is valid for five years.

Who is this card for?
Ideal for experienced construction workers who are responsible for supervising people, activities or specialist construction work on site and who have achieved the appropriate supervisory or technical qualification for their occupation.
Depending on your qualification and occupation, this may include site supervisors, trade supervisors, works supervisors, construction technical staff and other people responsible for overseeing construction activities.

If your qualification was issued by City & Guilds from 1 April 2013 onwards, CSCS may require the City & Guilds e-certificate containing the certificate authentication code.
Applicants with construction-related qualifications awarded outside the UK that are not currently recognised by CSCS may need an Ecctis Industry Skills Statement.
Requirements
What you need before we can apply for this card for you:
- Hold a relevant construction-related Supervisory or Technical NVQ or SVQ at Level 3 or Level 4
- Pass the CITB Specialist Supervisory Health, Safety & Environment Test within the last two years
- Provide your NVQ/SVQ completion certificate
- Provide any accompanying Certificates of Unit Credit where required
- Your qualification must match an occupation recognised by CSCS for the Supervisor Card
- Valid photo ID

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Gold Advanced Craft and Gold Supervisory?
Advanced Craft is for tradespeople with a Level 3 qualification in their craft. Supervisory is for people in supervisory roles with a relevant supervisory qualification. Both are gold and valid for five years.
Which CITB test do I need for a Supervisory Gold card?
Supervisors usually take the Managers & Professionals test. We confirm the exact version for your occupation when you book.
Don't have the required NVQ/SVQ yet?
If you are already working as a construction supervisor but do not yet hold the required Level 3 or Level 4 qualification, you may need to complete an appropriate construction-related Supervisory NVQ before you can obtain the full Gold Supervisor Card. The correct qualification depends on your occupation and the type of supervisory work you carry out, so your job role should be checked before enrolling onto an NVQ.
